Finca Los Álamos – Alto Valle de Uco
Sandy loam with pebbles, medium-low fertility. Low percentage of organic material. Good drainage and low salinity.
Traditional winemaking methods were used, including a three-day cold pre-fermentative maceration. Fermentation took place in concrete tanks without epoxy coating. Pumping over and manual punching down were performed to maximize maceration. Fermentation took place at 25 °C.
Color: Deeply red with purplish highlights.
Aroma: Very complex aromas combining balsamic notes with red fruit and spices.
Palate: With a superb structure, this wine’s full-bodied tannins contribute to a rugged feel and a smooth, persistent finish.
Harsh winters and hot summers with temperate or hot days and very cold nights. The daily temperature range is about 15º C during the growing development stage, favoring a very good production of color and tannins.
Meat, pasta, stews, legumes, mature cheese.
The resulting wine was aged in 225-liter oak barrels for 15 months and further aged in the bottle for another twelve.
ABV: 14.8 %.
Total Acidity: 5.46 g/l.
Reducing sugars: 2.05 g/l.
